The essence of intellectual property as a determinant economic and legal category of information society is investigated. Existing approaches to expensive assessment of the intellectual property objects are analysed, principles of their market valuation are determined. Measures for improvement of regulation of the intellectual property relations that allow working out the effective system of intellectual rights protection in Ukraine are proposed.
