Сучасна система вищої освіти постійно наголошує на нестачі державних фондів фінансування для забезпечення високої конкурентоспроможності освітянських послуг. Стаття звертається до основної та найбільшої складової бюджету європейських університетів – державного фінансування, відслідковуючи ті умови, за якими визначаються його обсяги. Порівняльне дослідження європейського досвіду, зокрема досвіду Великобританії, дозволяє визначити можливі рекомендації для української моделі фінансування вищої освіти.
